Coach Matt Smith
Coach Smith is entering his 2nd year as the Morrie Miller Athletic Foundation Baseball baseball coach and his 6th season as the Head Coach of the Winona Winhawk Baseball Program. He has also coached baseball at Saint Mary's University, Winona Cotter, and at the B-Squad level at Winona High. Coach Smith was born and raised in Winona and grew up playing baseball for the Buddies, Winhawks, LeJetz, Chiefs, and at Saint Mary's University. Coach Smith is married to his wife Katy and they have three grown daughters - Amanda, Jen, and Erin. He currently teaches 7th and 8th grade Social Studies at the Winona Middle School.
Coach Fran McDevitt
Coach Fran McDevitt has spent the past two springs working with the 9th Grade Baseball program, though he is not new to Winona baseball. After graduating from WSHS in 1991 Coach McDevitt has spent 11 years as the Assistant Coach for the Winona LeJetz legion baseball team as well as spliting four years as an assistant coach at Winona Cotter and Rochester Century. As well as many summers coaching youth baseball in the Winona area. Coach McDevitt has spent ten seasons as the head Boys Hockey coach at Winona Senior High School. His days are spent teaching Health and Physical Education at the Winona Middle School. He lives in Winona with his wife Toni, step-son Lucas Manor and his son Brayden.
